Before I was an art teacher, I was a fashion designer. I believe that my background influences the way that I teach art and is one of the reasons I was drawn to Bisa Butler and her masterful use of fiber arts in her portrait quilts. I have a laidback teaching style and this lesson has been successful for ALL of our students. I think you're going to have fun giving it a try and seeing if it is a good fit for your classroom.
