About me
I currently teach Visual Arts to 4th - 8th graders at Reidland Intermediate and Middle Schools in Paducah, Kentucky.
As an enthusiastic educator, I am excited to share lessons on Shoe Design, Portrait Painting, and Clay Zombies. Additionally, I have a strong passion for museums, which led me to complete my Ph.D. research at Florida State University.
My research fostered collaboration between participants and museum staff to document visitor experiences through inclusive art-making, interviews, discussions, and observations. The insights obtained from this research resulted in actionable recommendations for future programming, focusing on themes such as understanding, accessibility, interactivity, collaboration, communication, and evaluation.
These findings continue to inform my current research on Exemplary Visual Art Classrooms and the factors that contribute to student success in creative learning environments.
