Dr. Guy Trainin is a Professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a leads the UNL Regional Partnership with code.org. With a Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Riverside, he has an extensive background in literacy education, technology integration, and quantitative research methods. Over the years, Dr. Trainin has held several leadership positions, including Department Chair, Graduate Chair, and Director of the Kit and Dick Schmoker Reading Center. His research focuses on teacher education, teaching reading, arts integration, computer science education and the application of technology in education. He has published numerous articles, book chapters, and conference papers, contributing significantly to the fields of literacy and educational technology. Dr. Trainin is also actively involved in grant-funded projects, having secured over 50 grants and contracts for educational research and development. His commitment to advancing educational practices is further evidenced by his role as an advisor to numerous graduate students and his involvement in various professional boards and editorial committees. In recent years, he has been studying innovative learning and equity in Nebraska, India, and China, focusing on Computer Science, mobile devices, AI, and creativity.
