About me
Carrie Barnett lives in Cincinnati with her husband, two college-aged children, and pup. She has 27 years of teaching experience, ranging from public school to private school and 1st grade to college level, with the last 19 years in secondary education. Barnett’s passion for art as a child guided her to art education, which transformed her life to include a career she loves.Carrie’s passion for art advocacy led her into leadership roles within OAEA which eventually paved the way to her current role as president of OAEA. She is a graduate of Miami University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in art education, is National Board certified and is a proud 2017 graduate of NAEA’s School for Art Leaders.Carrie will serve as OAEA President until December 2020.
