About me
I am a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I completed a Masters in Arts Education. I now lecture at university level in the Caribbean, here I work with preservice elementary level teachers in the development of their art making skills. Statement of Purpose and Outcomes: To present findings from research done with preservice teachers in art making activities at a teacher training institution at university level. Many preservice teachers come into programs without any art making skills and abilities. They usually feel inadequate and insecure about teaching visual arts to students in their charge. Attendees will learn of challenges identified in the program and recommendations for improvement. They will be exposed to methodologies used to eliminate insecurities and fears of preservice teachers making them more efficient in the elementary level classroom.
