About me
Dr. Patty Bode weaves a tapestry of teaching and leadership art education experiences in both PK-12 public schools, and in higher education teacher preparation programs. She has worked in public schools for over 20 years as an art teacher, curriculum leader and middle school principal, and in higher education settings for over 15 years. In each setting she focuses on innovative teaching, curriculum transformation, social justice leadership, through art integration and community partnerships. Patty has received several awards from NAEA and MAEA, as well as other organizations such as the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME), and the Anti-Defamation League. She co-authored the book, Affirming Diversity: The Sociopolitical Context of Multicultural Education, 7th ed. Patty is the founder of the Remember Love Recovery Project which uses art activism and education to destigmatize addiction disorder. http://www.rememberloverecovery.org/
