About me
Sherri has taught visual and media arts at the middle school level for 18 years. She currently teaches Media Arts at Chute Middle School in Evanston, IL. She is most passionate about using issue-based photography to empower student voices, fostering dialogue that raises awareness and allows students to express and share their feelings. She believes her greatest role in the classroom is teaching students to effectively communicate about issues that affect them in their school and community, and become advocates for social justice and change. Besides photography, she also specializes in narrative media, digital fabrication, and STEAM/maker education. She is an Adobe Education Leader and an Education Amplifier with amplifier.org. You can follow her on Instagram at @chutemedia and on twitter @sherrip.
